In the fifty plus years of its existence, the Touchdown Club has spanned the glory years of Sooner football, providing $6 million in financial support to the OU Athletic Department.
In addition to scholarships, The Touchdown Club has provided financial support of non-scholarship related projects: both artificial turfs on Owen Field in Memorial Stadium and the Mosier Indoor Facility, as well as refurbished athletic dorms and weight rooms. In 1994, The Touchdown Club provided the majority of the money to pay for the new grass playing surface on Owen Field.
The most recent contribution was a $750,000 donation to help the construction of the Barry Switzer Center. In appreciation, the University of Oklahoma has named a portion of the Center The Touchdown Club of Oklahoma Legends Lobby. This impressive facility highlights the rich tradition of Sooner Football that has been helped along by the donations of generations of Touchdown Club members.
The club has social events throughout the year, including the Annual Dallas Weekend and Brunch, the annual Spring Football Meeting, and an annual Fall Kickoff Program. Additional benefits to club members include parking, membership decals, annual spring and fall media guides, listing of members in the OU Gameday Program, and much more.
In order to continue to help provide first-class facilities and scholarship aid to Sooner student athletes, The Touchdown Club needs the participation and support of ardent and generous OU fans.
